Google Raising the Bar with Google Reader
Google keeps working on making things better and better. I’m once again impressed with their offerings.
The latest one I have come across is Google Reader. This has been around for a little while in experimental form and has always been a ho-hum for me. All the “big guys” have attempted to read blogs and RSS feeds through their own interface and when I attempt to show an audience what these are, I’ve never been satisfied with the results.
I believe Google Reader may change that. It’s a very easy interface which gives much of the functionality of a big application RSS feed reader already in your browser. The look and feel also is VERY familiar to those who are already using GMail. Oh, and for those who are technically advanced, it has full capability to import your OPML so you don’t have to make it “fit” everything else out there.
Try playing around with this one (requires Google Account). I know people will eventually call it affectionately “GReader”.
